Employment
Candidates for either Full-Time or Part-Time EMT/FF with the Clinton Township Vol. Fire Co. should know that hours of service are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. FT employees are scheduled for four workdays per week of ten hours each equaling forty hours per week. Typically, employees will not work holidays or weekends unless there is a special circumstance. Over-time hours are available at times to all employees. FT employees are paid bi-weekly and CTVFC offers direct deposit. Healthcare benefits are available to FT employees after a probationary period. FT Employees are eligible for vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, and paid time off immediately upon hiring. Uniforms and necessary response equipment are provided for the employee by CTVFC. Employee is required to supply appropriate footwear and pants.
CTVFC operates two Department of Health licensed BLS transports, a wheelchair transport van, and one QRS apparatus. Our primary service area consists of three Townships within Southeastern Lycoming County that provide for some very challenging incidents. The recent influx of the Marcellus-Shale, natural gas drilling operations are vastly changing the areas that we respond to and bringing us new challenges to meet.
CTVFC also provides mutual aid responses to several other municipalities in Lycoming,
Union, and Northumberland Counties.
Minimum requirements:
Valid Pa Class C motor vehicle operator’s license.
Current PA Dept. of Health EMT-B certification
Current American Heart Association CPR certification or acceptable equivalent
Emergency Vehicle Operator’s Course
Hazardous Materials R & I Course
Hiring Preference is given to those individuals with the following:
Pa. Dept. of Health Vehicle Rescue; Basic, Special, and or Bus Rescue.
FF1 or FF2
Hazardous Materials Operations or Technician Certification.
Employees are expected to be neat in appearance and represent the CTVFC to the community with pride and professionalism. Compassion and courtesy for those that we respond to should be second nature to a CTVFC employee. Nothing less than the best personal emergency medical care for our patients will be tolerated. Complete and thorough documentation of incidents is of the utmost importance. CTVFC uses electronic reporting for all patient care reports through a state of the art system. CTVFC employees with the proper qualifications and training will be utilized for fire attack and suppression and rescue assignments as needed.
Employees are expected to:
Respond to any emergency or routine transport that is requested of CTVFC.
Arrive on time for work.
Perform various “station duties” each day between responses that consist of cleaning of the station and the fleet of apparatus, Maintenance of the grounds, and small power equipment.
Assist with special projects that arise throughout the year.
